Game room decal guide: placement, sizes, installation and FAQs

Where can game room decals be placed?

Area	Useful design format	Planning tip
Behind a gaming desk	Wide graphic, lettering or themed composition	Account for monitors and the seated viewing position
Above a console or television	Controller, arcade or game-room quote	Leave clear space around screens and ventilation
Streaming background	Bold graphic or personalized gamer name	Preview the placement through the camera
Teen bedroom gaming corner	Compact icons, neon-style art or characters	Coordinate with furniture and lighting

How to choose the right size

Measure the uninterrupted wall area that remains visible after monitors, shelves, speakers and furniture are considered. Mark the listed width and height with painter’s tape. Check the outline from the doorway, the gaming chair and the camera position if the room is used for streaming. Product mock-ups show an example setting; use the written dimensions for the actual scale.

Example: sizing a decal above your monitors

If the clear wall area is 48 inches wide and 24 inches high, a hypothetical 36 × 18-inch decal would leave 6 inches on each side and 3 inches above and below when centered. These are planning examples, not the dimensions of a specific product. Check the actual selected variant and use our wall decal measuring guide before ordering.

Which surface works best?

Most wall decals adhere best to a clean, dry, smooth and fully cured painted surface. Strong texture, dust, moisture, weak paint and some stain-resistant coatings can reduce adhesion. Check the individual product page and test an inconspicuous area when the wall finish is uncertain.

How to install a game room wall decal

Read the instructions for the selected product.
Clean the wall and allow it to dry completely.
Mark the position with low-tack tape and confirm the alignment.
Apply gradually, smoothing from the centre toward the edges.
Keep the decal clear of hot equipment, vents and moving mounts.

Game room wall decal FAQ

Will LED lighting affect the appearance?

Coloured lighting can change how printed colours appear. Check the design under the lighting used in the room and choose enough contrast for the wall.
