Blackboard Stickers / Chalkboard Vinyl Wall Decals

Blackboard and chalkboard stickers create a writable surface for weekly plans, menus, notes, shopping lists and classroom activities. They are a practical choice for kitchens, offices, cafés, studios and playrooms when you need information to change regularly.

Choose your chalkboard format

Start with blank chalkboard vinyl for an open writing area, a shaped chalkboard menu decal for kitchen notes, or a custom-fit chalkboard wall decal when the available space needs a precise fit. Check the chosen product for its included items and size options; chalk and markers are not included with these three options.

How to choose a chalkboard sticker

Chalk, chalk marker or another writing tool?

Writing compatibility depends on the product surface. Confirm on the individual product page whether it is intended for traditional chalk, liquid chalk markers or another tool. Test in a small corner before filling the complete surface, and use only the stated cleaning method.

What size should you order?

Measure the clear surface and estimate how much text must fit. A menu viewed across a room needs larger lettering than a household note. For a planner, check that each section is large enough for your normal handwriting. Product mock-ups are visual examples; use the listed dimensions for ordering.

Surface preparation and application

1. Choose a clean, dry, smooth and stable wall, door, cabinet or appliance surface.
2. Allow fresh paint to cure fully according to its manufacturer.
3. Mark a level position before removing the backing.
4. Apply gradually, smoothing from the centre outward.
5. Wait for any period specified in the instructions before writing or cleaning.

Rough plaster, dust, grease, weak paint and flexible joints can reduce adhesion. Material, adhesive and removability vary between listings.

Blackboard sticker FAQ

Are all blackboard stickers reusable?

No. A writable surface can be used repeatedly for messages, but the adhesive sticker itself may be intended for one installation. Check the individual listing.

Can I cut a plain chalkboard sheet to size?

Only if the product instructions allow trimming. Measure and mark the cut line before removing the backing.

How do I clean the writing surface?

Use the method recommended for the selected material. An incompatible cleaner or marker can leave residue or damage the finish.

Can I order a custom size or shape?

Some listings offer size or personalisation options. Contact Decords with the required dimensions if the needed format is not shown.

How quickly are Decords chalkboard stickers produced?

Orders are manufactured, normally within 1–3 working days, with free worldwide shipping.
