Transfer film holds separate cut elements in their correct positions during installation. It is normally removed after the design bonds to the wall, leaving the sticker elements in place.
Confirm the product construction
Not every wall sticker uses transfer film. Check the instructions supplied with the exact product before beginning.
Check the wall
The surface should be clean, dry, stable, reasonably smooth and fully cured. Dust, texture, moisture and delicate paint can affect adhesion.
Position the design
Measure the usable area and hold the complete sheet in place with temporary tape. Use a level reference for text or geometric layouts.
Create an application hinge
Secure one edge or the center according to the supplied method. This keeps the design aligned while the backing paper is removed gradually.
Apply the sticker
Press from the fixed area outward using controlled overlapping strokes. Avoid touching the adhesive and do not rush large or detailed sections.
Remove the transfer film
Burnish the elements, then peel the transfer film back slowly at a low angle. If an element lifts, lower the film and press that area again.
Frequently asked questions
Should transfer film remain on the wall?
No. It is an installation layer and is normally removed after the sticker elements adhere.
Can transfer-film stickers be installed on textured walls?
Only when the exact product is suitable for the texture and a test gives acceptable adhesion.
